Description2:

In the year 2005, in the district of Baré Bakem, a coastal region in Cameroon, I noticed a real problem with the lack of careers advice for young people.

As a result, this has created for them, an obstacle in living independently and in being qualified to easily find work. After finishing their general education, most young people find themselves unemployed and leave rural areas in mass, which affects this community.

That's where ADEFE-NLATI comes in, which is an association for community development and vocational training. Encouraging education by rewarding the best primary schools.

It's about offering a solution by giving young people the opportunity to gain skills, to get a better life by building their own future, thus less of them will leave rural areas in mass.

So as to avoid moving to the city, I found the Youth Professional Training Centre which was set up by ADEFE-NLATI and offers vocational training in areas such as Fashion Design, Office Administration, IT maintenance, Hairdressing and Hospitality.

After training in IT maintenance I was able to have a better social and professional integration into the job market.

This centre has not only helped me get a career but it has also given me work experience to kick-start my (professional) life, a few years later, I returned there to train young people in entrepreneurship and vocational integration. Today, we find young people in the community who have vocational qualifications.
