Looking back on my internship at Comundos

An article by Thomas More Office Management intern Tycho Torfs.

I am a last year Intercultural Relations Management student at the Thomas More University College. As a part of my thesis, I had to do a short internship during the schoolyear’s first semester. I got in touch with Comundos through the head of the Office Management department from my school.

For me, it was important that the work itself was relevant to my education, which exists mainly of languages, ICT and interculturality. It soon became clear that Comundos was an ideal place for me to to this internship; a young non-profit organization that wants to develop media literacy in underprivileged regions across the globe. In this way they want to give the people there the possibility to share their stories with others worldwide; in this way they also develop a voice in an intercultural dialogue.

I was mainly responsible for social media publications. I also wrote articles and translated and improved a lot of the existing content, both on the website and on other media channels such as Facebook and YouTube. This work did not only fit in perfectly with my education; working with people who aim to make the world a better place also made me feel truly privileged.

I am very thankful and happy for having contributed to this noble cause, and I will definitely keep Comundos in my sights throughout the future!
