Harvesting fresh fruits and vegetables from my own backyard, grown in an agroecological way, is an act of food sovereignty. Having the power to produce your own food guarantees greater health, savings and food security.

In my backyard, I like to grow chives, an essential seasoning in the kitchen. I also grow peppers, which I both eat and sell, as well as tomatoes, which are essential for salads.

We also have some fruit trees, such as the guava tree, whose fruit we use for juices, and the lemon tree, which is also a source of income.

In addition, we grow some medicinal plants, which we use to make teas.Among them are lemongrass, lemon balm and boldo.

These foods are essential for our nutrition and also benefit other people in the community. In my backyard, I work in an agroecological way and avoid using fertilizers that could harm my health and that of my family.

It is a small space, but it is very useful for feeding my family and the community.
